Hello Everyone !!! I hope that you are doing well and keeping safe. 

My name is Alejandra Velez and I am going to be your 3rd grade teacher this year. I am originally from Mexico City but graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso. I studied Mechanical Engineering but then decided teaching is what I love to do and I went back to school to become a teacher. I have been teaching for about 10 years. I started in El Paso, then I taught in china for 5 years and then Myanmar for 2. I have been in Jacksonville ISD for a year and I am very happy to be a part of the Fred Douglas Family. I can't wait to see you all !!!!

Mi nombre es Alejandra Velez y voy ser su maestra de 3o este año escolar. Originalmente soy de la Ciudad de Mexico pero me gradue de la Universidad de Texas en El Paso. Me gradue con un titulo de Ingenieria Mecanica pero despues descubri que lo que más me gusta hacer es enseñar así que estudié para maestra. 

Empecé a dar clases en El Paso, después me fui a vivir a china y vivi ahi por 5 años, luego vivi en Myanmar 2 anios. Desde hace un año vivo en Jacksonville y estoy muy feliz de formar parte de la familia de Fred Douglas Elementary. Espero verlos muy pronto !!!
