Welcome to Reading and Writing at Fred Douglass!

 

Greetings!  I am Holly Sansom, the literacy coach, and this is my sixteenth year teaching at Fred Douglass.   My first six years on campus were spent as a fourth grade teacher, and I'm beginning my tenth year as the literacy coach.  I received my  degree from Texas A&M University in 1989, earning elementary and secondary certifications.   Before arriving at Fred Douglass, I taught language arts and history at intermediate and middle schools.  I love supporting teachers with literacy instruction and inspiring students to become accomplished readers  and writers.  If you have any questions about ways to help your child with reading or writing, I'm happy to help!
